Just a week or so away. There are nine candidates running for the two open seats on the North Port City Commission in this year's election. Like it or not, we do live within the city limits of North Port. Who sits in the commissioner chairs is important to us. I'm on the board of directors for a nonprofit in North Port that is trying to establish Internet based broadband community radio. Their prototype radio station has available one-on-one, half-hour long interviews with each of the nine city commission candidates in its archive library. Take a few minutes to hear what the candidates have to say at:

There was also a live candidates forum held in North Port in July. All nine candidates answered moderated questions during the forum which was recorded by KDWRadio. Listen to the entire 2 and 1/2 hour forum here:

Be an informed voter and vote often (only kidding). We can have a say in who represents us if we care enough to do so!
