District Meeting on 8/26/14

At the regular scheduled meeting of the WVID we learned that Eric Anderson had resigned his position. Eric was one of the original Supervisors of the district and the manager of the Thomas Ranch owned by the previous master developer, Fourth Quarter Properties. Martin Black, former City of Venice, City Manager, was nominated by the board to fill the remaining term of this vacancy. Marty is a well known and respected public figure with a great deal of knowledge about the history and the future of not only West Villages, but the surrounding communities as well.

In other business. The board approved the final 2014/2015 budget as proposed back in July. This new budget includes a line item for the salary of a part-time individual to a day-to-day liaison between the district and the residents. Once hired, this person will monitor WVID infrastructure and maintenance programs on a regular basis to ensure such things as street lights working, pumps pumping, landscaping living, etc. Residents will also be able to contact this person to report issues, or to get updates about issues within the district.

It looks like the individual for this position will be an independent contractor, reporting to the District Manager. If anyone is looking for some part time work, they should contact Todd Woodroska at:
