Braves are Coming to West Villages

Just announced late yesterday afternoon (1/17/17) that the team is now in final and exclusive negotiations with the county, city, and master developer for West Villages. Assuming no one scores an error on this play, the deal should be done by Spring 2017 and the Braves want to begin using the new facility in Spring 2019. According to news releases from the Sarasota Herald Tribune and the West Villages marketing office, the proposed location of the new stadium has changed considerably. It is no longer fronting on the south side of US 41 just east of the SCF campus. Now the stadium is proposed to be along the east side of  West Villages Parkway, south of US 41 and the SCF campus.
