District Rezoning Public Meetings in July 2016

Every resident in West Villages should have received a post card this week from the city Planning Division giving notice of a series of public meetings planned for July 2016. For those who didn't receive this notice, here is a summary of the meetings:

July 7, 9 am. Planning and Zoning Advisory Board. Review the revised West Villages Index Map and the proposed rezoning ordinances, take public comment, and make recommendation to the City Commissioners.

July26, 10 am. Regular City Commission meeting for the first reading of the revised West Villages Index Map and the rezoning ordinances and public comment (Ordinances 2016-16 , -17 , and -22).

September 13, 10 am, Regular City Commission meeting where the revised West Villages Index Map and vacant land rezoning designation would be adopted (Ordinances 2016-16 and -17).

September 27, 10 am. Regular City Commission meeting where the old 126 ac Sarasota Memorial Hospital property will be rezoned to allow it to become part of the proposed new Village D village center project (Ordinance 2016-22).

All meetings are to be held in the City Commission Chambers, 2nd floor of City Hall.
