Parkway Segment to Open Soon?

Patty and I took a drive on the West Villages Parkway on Sunday.  I was amazed by the progress being made on the segment from Hwy 41 to River Rd.  The River Rd. intersection is almost complete, including an installed traffic light system.  Only thing left to do there is the creation of a North bound River Rd. turn lane for the intersection.  At the Hwy 41 end where the future Publix shopping center will eventually be, it appears that this intersection is ready for the final tie-in to Hwy 41.  We also noted that the South bound construction of the Parkway from Hwy 41 to the South County Resource Center has begun and is well underway.  I'll be sending an email to the District's General Manager asking that the Board of Supervisors provide an update on these improvements at the next meeting on 9/28/2010.  I'm most interested in knowing when the River Rd. - Hwy 41 segment will open to traffic, and if there will be a traffic light installed at the Hwy 41 intersection.
